Ann Hogan mezzo soprano John Molloy bass baritone Naoise Stuart-Kelly soprano The Gilbert & Sullivan Orchestra with Birr Stage Guild Chorus With fourteen operettas written over the course of twenty-five years, W.S.Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan etched their names in the history books forever, and whetted an appetite for musical theatre all over the world. Some of their best loved overtures, choruses, quartets, duets and solos from H.M.S.Pinafore, The Pirates Of Penzance, The Gondaliers and Others, make up this memorable evening of music and song. Featuring accomplished guest singers of national and international repute, the chorus of Birr Stage Guild and G & S Orchestra.

The planned itinerary was as follows:

Sat 2:00 p.m. Exhibition of Archives of Birr Stage Guild 1958 – 2008,
Dooly’s Hotel, Emmet Square. Opening with Wine and Cheese Reception and launch of Official Souvenir Programme.

Sat 8:00 p.m. Gala Performance “The Best of Gilbert & Sullivan” with John Molloy, Ann Hogan and Naoise Stuart-Kelly, with Birr Stage Guild Chorus. An evening of scintillating music and song with orchestra and cast under the direction of Enda O’Connor.
After Show Festival Club at County Arms Hotel, Roscrea Road, Birr

Sun 12:00p.m. Celebration Mass for Birr Stage Guild at St. Brendan’s Church Birr.
Ongoing Exhibition of Archives at Dooly’s Hotel until 5:00 p.m.

Sun 8:00 p.m. Evening of Gala Performance “The Best of Gilbert & Sullivan” (as above).
