The Trial of Mr Punch is a comic drama about the trial of the
illustrious puppet, Mr Punch, on charges of cruelty to his wife,
Judy. As the trial proceeds, in a series of zany scenes, the
question arises - is Mr Punch insane, and unfit for trial? Or is he
simply a puppet trapped in his own reality? Does he love his wife,
or does he love his notoriety more? Punch - cunning, outrageously
extroverted, unpredictable - faces the charges in his own inimitable
way. But is he really guilty?
