Birr Stage Guild – Spring Production

The Stage Guild held its AGM recently and it was heartening to see such a large and enthusiastic gathering.  The meeting reported another successful year for the stage guild and resolved to continue to stage performances of high standards over the coming year. Our incoming committee consists of a mixture of experienced and new faces and we are all looking forward to working together in the months ahead. This year’s officers are John Irwin, Chairman, Declan Milne, Vice-Chairman, Noeleen Harding, Secretary, Adrian Shiels, Treasurer, Junior O’Callaghan, Assistant-Treasurer and Mary Horan, P.R.O. This group is supported by a very capable committee.

The committee’s first task was to select our Spring Production. After much deliberation, our musical choice for 2005 has finally been made and we are staging “The Little Shop of Horrors”. The show is being produced by Colin Hughes with Maureen de Forge, Assistant Producer and Enda O’Connor, Musical Director. 

Rehearsals are in full swing and the show opens with a Gala Night on Sunday 27^th February and runs nightly until Saturday 5^th March in Birr Theatre and Arts Centre. Tickets may be reserved at the Box Office by phoning 0509 22911.

We have recently developed a website www.birrstageguild.com and will be updating the website on a regular basis, particularly with progress reports and photographs of our latest productions. We also have an Email address, info@birrstageguild.com and would welcome any comments or communication.
