For over fifty years the financial support of our patrons has allowed Birr Stage Guild to produce musicals, plays, pantomimes, concerts and children’s theatre to a very high standard. Being aware of the current financial climate we are not asking our patrons for a large contribution and as a result will not be holding a Gala Evening. Ticket price remains at €18, and an additional €12 (i.e. €30 per person) includes a ticket for the show on the night of patrons’ choice and inclusion in our programme. In addition each patron will be named on our website for the entire year. The closing date for patrons to be listed in the programme is Wednesday 3rd of March. Bookings should be made directly to Birr Theatre & Arts Centre on 057-9122911. Thanking you for your continued support and enjoyment of our productions. Announcing its Spring musical production, Birr Stage Guild is delighted to have yet again acquired the rights to an Irish premiere. ‘The Wiremen’, with music, lyrics and book by Shay Healy will have its first ever amateur production in Birr Theatre & Arts Centre in March 2010! Birr
Stage Guild presents
Hello, He Lied
Written and directed by Campbell Black with Rebecca Armstrong Tuesday 18 – Friday 21 August 2009 Pinocchio goes to Hollywood, determined to escape the pizzeria he inherited. Tired of massaging dough, chopping tomatoes, and dreaming of red sauces at night, he wants to be a big time actor - a star! He is taken under the protective wing of Gepetto, the great studio Mogul, the man with the power to make stars or break hearts or both. Mr Blue-Fairy, talent-spotter, swears he can bestow the magic powder of stardom on young Pinnochio....and Pinnochio is desperately willing to take the chance in a world known for its skullduggery and slippery deals. But will it all go terribly wrong for our young hero on his way to the top? €14/12 (including tea/coffee/sandwich) 1.05pm SHARP (Friends: Priority)
